Lee Point
Birding around the north of Darwin, including the contested Binybara woodland.
Buffalo Creek Estuary forms the eastern end of Casuarina Coastal Reserve, where the lower creek becomes tidally influenced before entering Shoal Bay. The lower reaches are fringed by extensive mangroves and open onto intertidal sandflats that provide important feeding and roosting habitat for migratory shorebirds. The estuary is also ecologically affected by wastewater discharge from the Leanyer–Sanderson treatment system.
