Eynesbury Forest and Grasslands
A hot morning in remnant grey box forest and grasslands in the city's west.
Eynesbury forest is centred on one of Victoria’s largest remaining grey box woodlands, a substantial remnant of the grassy woodland that once covered much of the surrounding basalt plains. The reserve sits within a broader area of native grassland, open woodland and agricultural land, with a small reservoir on its eastern edge providing an important local water source for birds.
