Fivebough Wetlands
My first trip to Fivebough this year and I dragged my parents along.
Fivebough Wetlands is a large floodplain wetland on the outskirts of Leeton, with shallow open water, reedbeds, mudflats and seasonally inundated grassland bordered by open woodland. Managed as a major waterbird refuge, it is particularly important for migratory shorebirds and other wetland species, with bird numbers and habitat conditions changing markedly as water levels rise and fall through the year.
