Kakadu NP
Five days of incredible birding in Kakadu National Park.
Kakadu National Park spans a vast mosaic of Stone Country, savanna woodland, monsoon rainforest, floodplains, wetlands and tidal river systems across the western edge of Arnhem Land. Jabiru is the park’s main population centre.
Kakadu’s strong seasonal cycle shapes both the landscape and its wildlife, from dry-season concentrations of waterbirds on shrinking wetlands to species restricted to the sandstone escarpment. The park is also a living cultural landscape, managed jointly with its Traditional Owners and containing an exceptional concentration of Aboriginal rock art, occupation sites and continuing cultural practice.
