About this location
Marrambidya Wetland is a 20-hectare restored wetland beside the Murrumbidgee River in Wagga Wagga, created from the disused treatment ponds of the former Narrung Street sewage works and opened in 2016. Its three ephemeral ponds are fringed by river red gum forest and grassland, with reedbeds, refuge islands and other constructed habitat supporting birds, frogs, fish, reptiles and locally threatened squirrel glider.
