About this location

Newells Paddock is a rehabilitated urban wetland beside the Maribyrnong River in Footscray, created within a heavily modified former paddock and industrial landscape. Shallow water, reedbeds and planted native vegetation now support a broad range of waterbirds and other fauna, while the reserve also provides open recreational space and forms part of the wider Maribyrnong River corridor.
