Parnka Point

About this location

Parnka Point sits on a narrow section of the Coorong where the North and South Lagoons are separated by a constricted channel, creating a strong transition between open water, saline mudflats, samphire and low coastal shrubland. The surrounding wetlands are part of the wider Coorong Ramsar system and can support large concentrations of waterbirds and shorebirds as water levels and salinity change through the year.
