Western Treatment Plant
My second trip to the Western Treatment Plant in three days yields a lifer and another two dips.
Western Treatment Plant is a vast wetland complex on the western shore of Port Phillip Bay, combining treatment lagoons, natural and constructed wetlands, the lower Werribee and Little River systems, estuarine habitat and extensive coastal grasslands. Surrounded by farmland, its mix of freshwater, brackish and saline environments supports an exceptional diversity of waterbirds and shorebirds.
