The Public Interest Publishers Index (PIPI) is an independent research dataset maintained by Gary Dickson that records public interest journalism outlets operating in Australia, their institutional and geographic characteristics, and significant changes to the news market over time.

PIPI launched in April 2025 and covers records from 1 January 2019. It was developed from Creative Commons data collected by the Public Interest Journalism Initiative through the Australian News Data Project, which operated until the end of 2024. PIPI is an independent project and is not affiliated with PIJI.
