Yarra Bridge Reserve

About this location

Yarra Bridge Streamside Reserve protects about 12 hectares of bushland along the Yarra River north of Woori Yallock. The reserve contains riparian forest, a publicly accessible billabong and areas of dense understorey, forming a relatively intact pocket of riverine habitat within a surrounding agricultural landscape.

The reserve is also notable for supporting Wonga pigeons close to Melbourne’s eastern fringe, making it one of the more accessible sites west of their stronger populations in the ranges.
